The Power of Love Gala is an annual lifestyle celebration and the vision of Pam Reaves, Founder and Owner of NELLA LLC. Pam is a Certified Professional Coach, Author, Relationship Columnist, and an Empowerment Seminar Facilitator. She has partnered with her husband, Reginald U. Scriber, Sr., as well as Bill and Tammy Clowney, who are the owners of Simply Elegant Catering and the Grey Rock Mansion, to host this dream come true event.
The Power of Love Gala is a unique celebration that takes place in the month of February each year. Selected honorees are honored for: (1) Lives well lived under the influence of the Power of Love; (2) Victories over challenges and adversity that are testaments to the Power of Love; (3) Legacies that are being or have been created through and motivated by the Power of Love; (4) Odds that have been defied because of the belief in, and courage to exercise the Power of Love and; (5) Memories that gift us with lifetime reminders of the Power of Love. These attributes are not exclusively reserved for celebrity or the affluent.
This incredible, unforgettable evening includes a VIP reception (all of our guests are VIP’s), gourmet dinner, live entertainment, an amazing shopping experience with premium vendors, and awesome door prizes, including a gift from one of our major sponsors, Kent Fisher Furs.
Included among the highlights of the evening is the Awards Ceremony, wherein we honor a diverse group of people who live and enjoy empowered lifestyles. The honorees are representative of the faith-based, legal, political, entertainment, business, and medical communities. They are diverse in ethnicity, age, culture, and type of relationship and that’s what makes this ceremony and evening so special.
The Gala’s hosts are honored to support other initiatives that enrich the human experience and embrace the Power of Love. In 2014, a portion of the proceeds from the sale of tickets was given to a faith-based initiative, Ray of Hope Kenya, in the form of a charitable contribution. Ray of Hope Kenya is an empowerment program for women and girls that educate and train the women of Kenya to be self-sufficient, thereby avoiding the toxic relationship contributing factor of dependency.
In 2015, a portion of the proceeds was donated to Women Veterans Interactive (WVI). Founded by Ginger Miller, a Navy veteran and military spouse, WVI was created to meet all women veterans at their specific points of need. The organization’s mission, “Supporting Women Veterans through Advocacy, Empowerment, Interaction, Outreach, and Unification” (AEIOU).
In 2016, a portion of the proceeds from the sale of tickets were donated to the American Health Career Institute, serving the Penn-North Community in Baltimore City. AHC is dedicated to providing a rich educational foundation in the HealthCare Field for its students. The Institute’s mission is to encourage each student to become a lifelong learner by performing to his or her potential in a safe and challenging learning environment. AHCI’s theme is “EDUCATE, ENCOURAGE & EMPOWER”. The Institute’s programs help students achieve personal enrichment and career advancement. AHCI graduates, in turn, enrich and advance the lives of countless others they serve promoting the Health and Wellness of the Community.
